MHLA Inc. was founded by MARK HARTLEY, B.L.A., O.A.L.A., C.S.L.A who started his own practice in 1994. It is a small firm consisting of four registered landscape architects and three support staff. Their work focuses on private residential, planning, design, and project management. They design a selection of commercial and institutional landscapes. They work very closely with the client and their consultants, offering the personal attention necessary to resolve all issues over the duration of the project. The principal, Mark Hartley, is involved in every project and with over thirty years experience brings strong design, administrative and technical skills to the project team.

They pride themselves on their creative use of materials and installation techniques in the landscape and they have extensive experience in the design and building of water features from swimming pools to ponds and waterfalls. They are a firm that offers innovative design, creative solutions and sound technical detail, all based on a thorough study of the clients' needs and vision.
